Jacqueline (Jacque) George, LCSW, RPT-S, CAAPT-S-I, began practicing Child Centered Play Therapy, the foundation of Filial Therapy, in 1990. She has worked in preschool settings, in the school setting with severely emotionally disturbed children, in outpatient settings, and is currently in a private practice in York, Pennsylvania. When Jacque learned Filial Therapy, she found the therapeutic piece that equips parents to be active agents for change in their children’s lives. This powerful modality has become a focus of Jacque’s private practice and parents repeatedly express their thankfulness for skills that so positively impact their relationships with their children and help resolve a myriad of difficult behaviors.
Jacque has applied her love of CCPT work to Filial Therapy and is a Filial Therapy Instructor.
She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S), Certified Animal Assisted Play Therapist-Supervisor-Instructor (CAAPT-S-I), and Diplomate of Clinical Forensic Counseling (specifically for domestic violence). She enjoys teaching the next generation of therapists, whether they are interns, graduates working toward their license, or practicing professional participants at one of the many workshops Jacque leads.
Jacque served on the Utah Association for Play Therapy Board of Directors and then was involved with the Pennsylvania Association for Play Therapy Board of Directors for 15 years. She was President of PA APT for four years and received the Drs. Louise and Bernard Guerney Award from the Pennsylvania Association for Play Therapy for excellence in promoting the field of play therapy.
